Emma qualified in 2011 with a Law and History degree from the University of West of England, and obtained her Graduate Diploma in Law in 2012. She has 6 years’ experience working in the not-for-profit sector as an advisor-advocate before specialising for the last 4 years in Education Law with respect to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Emma joined the Education Department in October 2018 as an Education Paralegal and is involved with a wide range of Education matters, including SEND appeal processes for EHC plans. She has a key interest in the Health and Social Care Aspects of EHC plans and complaints to the Local Government Ombudsman where local authorities have not followed correct procedure.
