Watkins Solicitors Attend Together for SEND Conference

Members of the Watkins Solicitors Education Law team recently attended the Together for SEND conference, held on 16 March, where they met with families, education professionals and local organisations to share information about legal support for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
The event brought together families and professionals from across the region for a full day focused on SEND, including a wide range of talks, workshops and opportunities to access practical guidance. With more than 50 organisations exhibiting, the conference provided a valuable opportunity for families to connect with services and seek advice in a supportive and accessible environment.
Beverley Watkins, Managing Partner, attended alongside Sophia, Wania and Dylan from our Education Law team. Throughout the day, the team spoke with parents and carers about common concerns around Education, Health and Care Plans, access to suitable school placements and navigating the SEND Tribunal process.
The event highlighted the ongoing challenges many families face in securing appropriate support for their children. Conversations throughout the day reflected a continued need for clear advice, early intervention and access to specialist support where local authority decisions are not meeting a child’s needs.
Watkins Solicitors were pleased to be part of the event and to contribute to conversations that help improve understanding of SEND and the support available to families. Attending events such as Together for SEND remains an important part of the firm’s commitment to the SEND community and to ensuring families know where to turn for advice when they need it.
