Jo has specialised in family matters since qualification in 2006. She now focuses on children work and helping families resolve issues between themselves and/or with the Local Authority.
Children matters can be very difficult and emotional and Jo prides herself on taking a personal, constructive and solution-focused approach. She provides clear, expert legal advice and support throughout her cases which can include disputes as to with whom children will live, how much time they will spend with another family member, what school they will attend, and has significant experiences of complex cases where there are, for example, domestic abuse, mental health, religious or gender identity issues. She also deals with removal from the jurisdiction issues.
Jo also acts for parents in care proceedings, including in cases where there are allegations of non-accidental injury and abuse, and ensures that parents are properly represented and fully heard in the court.
