Beverley Watkins wins Bristol Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year

  • Posted

Staff had a wonderful evening at the Annual Bristol Law Society Awards and, to round it off, Beverley Watkins won the award for Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year!

When presenting the award, the following was said:

"To Beverley Watkins, for her tireless commitment to pro bono work locally and her 'lead by example' role in her firm and the wider legal community, Beverley never stops fighting to ensure legal advice reaches everyone who needs it. At a time when this is much needed, Beverley's work providing advice at various legal advice centres and in prisons resonated with the judges as deserving of this award."

Beverley has been a volunteer student/solicitor at Law Centres in Brighton, London and Bristol since 1979! She has been attending the weekly advice sessions at Avon and Bristol Law centre since 1997. Beverley's award is a thoroughly well-deserved acknowledgement of the years of legal advice and support Beverley has provided to some of the most vulnerable members of the community - many congratulations Bev!
